Keyboard shortcuts
ALMS works fully with a keyboard. These keys work everywhere. The video player lists its own keys next to the player.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tab | Move to the next link, button or field |
| Shift + Tab | Move to the previous link, button or field |
| Enter | Follow a link or press a button |
| Space | Press a button, or tick and untick a checkbox |
| Arrow keys | Move between options in a menu, a group of radio buttons, or tabs |
| Escape | Close a menu or dialog and go back to the button that opened it |
| Tab on a new page | The first Tab shows the "Skip to main content" link |
Keyboard shortcuts in the text box
- Ctrl+B (Cmd+B on Mac): Bold
- Ctrl+I (Cmd+I on Mac): Italic
- Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac): Link
- Arrow keys: Move between toolbar buttons; Tab leaves the toolbar
Keyboard shortcuts (work while the player has focus)
- Space or K: play or pause (Space on a button presses that button)
- J / L: back or forward 10 seconds
- Arrow keys, Home, End: move the seek slider when it has focus
- M: mute or unmute
- C: captions on or off
- T: show or hide the transcript
- F: fullscreen
